New River

I've just got back from a two-day walk along the New River, which runs from Hertfordshire into North London and carries around eight percent of London's water supply into the city. It flows at quite a clip, as you could imagine.

Highlights of the walk probably include:

The award for biggest downside of the trip would have to go to the designers of the Thames Water signs dotting the path every mile or so, all of which begin with the smug phrase: The New River is neither new nor a river. Good work, eh?
