The Three Peaks (of Yorkshire)

Ah me, what compromising chaps Huw and I are: not only did we plump to walk the Three Peaks (of Yorkshire) rather than the somewhat more mental Three Peaks (of the UK), but we then actually split it into two separate walks rather than doing the whole twenty-four mile hike in one go.

Poor excuses for hillwalkers, I freely admit.

However, we had a jolly good time wimping out. In time-honoured fashion, here are the top bits, in no special order:

• Cracking lunches at the Old Hill Inn and The Castle Inn
• A fine steam train on Ribblesdale Viaduct
• Back to the Future II
• Fell runners as old as time itself scampering past us on Ingleborough
• The Mactaguester's genius pizza on Saturday night
• Not really getting rained on much at all

And you can't ask for much more, can you?
